Shafonne Myers, the president of Making Your Event Special, graduated from Mary Baldwin College in 2001 with a Bachelors of Science in Biology and a degree in Entrepreneurship. While attending she was in charge of Baldwin Program Board, the organization responsible for all social events on campus. This is where she learned her leadership, organizational and creative skills needed to be a dynamic Wedding and Event Planner.

Her expertise and warm personality enable her to coordinate memorable and elegant weddings and events. Her determined attitude, along with an amazing team, allow her to work well with vendors to ensure that your day is perfect.

THAT'S THE TEXT BOOK, NOW FOR THE PERSONAL

Upon graduating, I went into the medical field but my heart always stayed with event planning. I was always the party planner for my hospitals and doctor's offices so eventually my wonderful husband and high school sweetheart told me to "Do it for myself" and start my own business. So Making Your Event Special was born.

There are three things that I love more than anything in the world; my wonderful husband and two darling children, teaching and imparting knowledge to all that are willing to listen and planning weddings and events.
